HOW SHOULD DECKS AND RAILS BE PREPARED FOR THE APPLICATION OF X-100 NATURAL SEAL?
For best results, all new decks and rails should first be cleaned with X-180 Weathered Wood Restorer to remove all dirt and mill glaze. This will maximize product absorption and enhance durability of the finish. On older decks that have been finished with other deck finishes, remove the old finish prior to applying X-100 Natural Seal Waterborne Deck Finish. Once the old finish has been removed clean your decking with X-180 Weathered Wood Restorer. Let your deck dry for one day prior to applying X-100.
Never use bleach and water or a bleach, water and TSP mixture to clean your deck prior to applying X-100 Natural Seal Waterborne Deck Finish. These Products will inhibit the deck from absorbing X-100 and can result in finish peeling.
X-100 is a waterborne finish. It is a good idea to mist the deck with water prior to applying X-100.
